Fernando A. Cascante

Fernando A. Cascante is a senior consultant with the 91ÁÔÆæ, working with grants programs, coaching in worship and preaching initiatives, teaching in leadership and intercultural learning courses, and developing resources. 

Fernando was born and raised in Costa Rica, where he studied at the University of Costa Rica (bachelor’s degree in educational sciences) and at the Latin American Biblical Seminary (bachelor’s degree in theology). He graduated with an M.A. in Christian Education and an Ed.D. from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education (PSCE), in Richmond, VA.  

Fernando served as a bi-vocational pastor in San José, Costa Rica, while teaching at the Latin American Biblical Seminary and at the University of Costa Rica. In 2000 he moved to the United States to serve at the faculty of Union Theological Seminary-PSCE in Richmond, Virginia, where he taught until 2009.  In 2011 Fernando was named Director of Leadership Development and the first Director of the Justo and Catherine González Resource Center of the Association of Hispanic Theological Education (AETH, for its name in Spanish).  He served as Executive Director of AETH between the years of 2014 and 2021.
